On this episode we have the astonishing Jordan Bailey. We dig deep into her story in dealing with body issues through the professional world of ice skating. We dig into topics like self-doubt. We also talk about the negative voices in your head due to what society shows within media and other people.
Jordan Bailey is a former team USA ice skater turned coach, activist, and performing artist, and has a BA in International Relations and Theater from Miami University of Oxford Ohio. She uses her experience with Applied Theater to inform her projects that center around international relations or social issues, mental health, and performing arts, and how different forms of expression can be used to educate, bring awareness, and possible change to the topic at hand. She currently skates for American Ice Theater Company, New York, and works for Figure Skating in Harlem, a non profit that strives to build confidence, education, and artistic freedom in girls and young women of color.
